Family fall in love with lakeside living at Waterside

After seven years of living on the first phase of the Castle Hill development in Ebbsfleet, the Lee family didn’t have to look far to find a larger home that could accommodate the needs of their growing family

Michael Lee, his wife Melissa, and their three children moved into their first home at Castle Hill in 2016 and were so impressed with all the development has to offer that they decided to upsize to a larger house in the same area.

Michael said: “Shortly after settling into our first home at the development, we welcomed our youngest son who is now 6 years old. With our family expanding, it became evident that we would eventually need a larger space with more room for both family activities and socialising with friends.

“We’ve always loved the area at Castle Hill, particularly the lake which is such a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, so we knew we wanted to find another home in the same location.”
The family heard about the homes Taylor Wimpey were building at Castle Hill and, after visiting the housebuilder's Waterside at Castle Hill development, they fell in love with the four bedroom Bradley house type. Michael says: “The layout of the Bradey perfectly suits our needs. The kitchen diner is a big space which is great for our growing family and we also liked the spacious hallway and good-sized bedrooms. We have seen a lot of homes where the fourth bedroom is a box room but that’s not the case in our house. The big windows are fantastic too; the house is flooded with light and we can make the most of the beautiful view.’
 

The perfect family home

Choosing a new build was a conscious decision for the Lee family. Michael said: “This is our second new build. With a family of five and a busy lifestyle, we wanted to move into a house that was energy efficient and ready to move straight into rather than being a project.”

With Taylor Wimpey’s supportive sales team, their journey to upsizing was smooth sailing, despite the challenges of a fluctuating market and multiple buyers falling through. Michael said: “The sales team at Waterside were truly amazing and always incredibly helpful throughout what proved to be a challenging process.

He adds: “Being in a chain, coupled with the ever-changing market conditions, presented many hurdles, including having more than one buyer fall through. Despite this, the team provided us with the time and support necessary to turn our dreams of moving home into a reality. They didn’t pressure us at all and their thorough guidance made the entire process remarkably smooth.”

After seven years of living at Castle Hill, Michael and his family are enjoying being part of the thriving community. Michael says: “We’ve always loved the development, and enjoy the walks and vibrant social atmosphere it offers, alongside the convenience of nearby amenities and schools. We’re looking forward to seeing the development continue to grow and can’t wait to see the green areas and streams and ponds that are being developed come to life.”
