Family up-sizes to dream home at Chester Grange

Meet Graeme and Amber Smith, proud parents to Benjamin, Aurora, and their soon-to-arrive new addition. Their story revolves around their decision to embrace a new chapter of life in one of our homes at the Chester Grange development, located on the outskirts of Chester-le-Street.

Upsizing to dream home

Before their move to Chester Grange, the Smiths called a townhouse in Washington their home. However, with the family expanding, the limitations of their current living space, the absence of a garage, and a small garden prompted them to explore new opportunities.

Chester Grange appealed to Graeme and Amber for a variety of reasons, such as being captivated by our Shelford housetype and our development's overall appeal. Karen, our sales executive at the development, played an essential role in making their decision. Graeme recalls, "We fell in love with the Shelford and the development as a whole. The Shelford housetype was exactly what we were looking for. The layout is practical, with spacious rooms and an efficient use of space. It not only met our immediate needs but also offered room to grow as our family expands. Karen was great when showing us around and answered every question we had."

Graeme and Amber initially hadn't considered a new build. But the spacious rooms and our Part Exchange incentive soon changed their minds. The show homes ticked all the boxes, and the option for a seamless part exchange of their current home clinched the deal. Graeme explained, "We hadn't contemplated the idea of a new build, but as we explored Chester Grange, we couldn't help but be impressed by the incentives available as well as the incredible room sizes. It checked all the right boxes for us. What sealed the deal, though, was the realisation that we could part exchange our current home; that was a game-changer."

Graeme and Amber found the process of buying their home with us to be exceptionally straightforward. The part exchange incentive added a layer of convenience. Graeme explained, "It was very easy if I am honest. The whole process from start to finish was seamless, and getting to watch the home of your dreams being built was quite an experience."

The family's choice of Taylor Wimpey was influenced by our unwavering commitment to quality and excellent customer service. Graeme expressed, "We were genuinely taken aback by the exceptional level of customer service we received from Taylor Wimpey. From our very first interaction, we were met with warmth and professionalism that instantly put us at ease. Our questions were met with patience, and we never felt rushed or pressured into making a decision.

“Also, it was the attention to detail in the house finish that left a lasting impression on us. We noticed the fine craftsmanship and the thought that had gone into every corner of our new home. The quality of the fixtures, fittings, and overall workmanship was of the highest standard. It's those small things, like a well-finished kitchen countertop or the precision of the paintwork, that truly make a house feel like a home."

Their house choice was driven by their growing family's needs, “Having a detached garage was important for practical reasons. It offers extra storage space and keeps our vehicles secure. The spacious rooms provide room to accommodate our family as it grows. It's a functional and well-designed home, giving us both space and convenience,” Graeme noted.

The family have settled into their new home with joy and contentment. Graeme stated, "We love our new home, and we are fully settled in now. The post-sale service has been great, and everyone on site has been very helpful."

Chester Grange has left an indelible mark on the family. They cherish the tranquil surroundings teeming with wildlife and the strong sense of community. "It's a great development, the wildlife you see wandering around is great, it's quiet, safe, and a great community. In short, Chester Grange is not just a development; it's a wonderful place for our growing family, with a welcoming and close-knit community that we're proud to be a part of." Graeme said.

To those considering a new build with Taylor Wimpey, Graeme offers enthusiastic advice: "Do it! We deliberated for a while, but our advice would be to jump in with both feet as it's well worth it."
