Family upsize to cosy village home in Codicote

Nicola (44) and Adam (45) Honeyman, both Interior Designers, upsized from their two-bedroom terrace home in Beckenham, Kent, with their 12-year-old daughter to be closer to their family in the North.

Dream countryside location

The couple opted to purchase a new build home after encountering problems with buying pre-owned homes in the past. They discovered that new builds offer greater peace of mind, especially with the added protection of a warranty.

After searching in Harpenden, St Albans and Hitchin, Nicola and Adam chose to purchase a home at The Heath development in Codicote. Nicola said: “We were impressed with The Heath upon arrival with its generously-sized homes, wide streets and lovely views of the countryside. We really liked the site plan and the balance between houses and Greenland.

When asked about the sales purchase, Nicola said: “The purchase process was extremely well-handled by the sales team and we were supported throughout. We very much liked their friendly, flexible, and personal approach and eagerness to help.”

The couple chose a four-bedroom Billingtom house due to the space it provided. Now that they’ve settled in, Nicola shared her thoughts on her family’s new home and the local area. She said: “The home has wonderful light and space which gives it a luxurious feel. The downstairs areas in particular work wonderfully well for us. 

“Codicote is a sweet, quiet village, but the real plus parts of this location are the wonderful pubs in Welwyn village, the bustling vibrant Harpenden and St Albans, and the stores and leisure facilities in Stevenage.”
