Young family get more living space by choosing to call Calderwood home

Stephanie McGarrity and her partner Garry wanted more from family life by taking a step up the property ladder from a three-bedroom flat in Edinburgh to get more space to grow into.

A step up on the property ladder

The couple discovered Taylor Wimpey’s Calderwood near East Calder and it was the most natural step for their family as Stephanie explains: “We wanted more living space and a garden, and we didn’t want to be too far away from Edinburgh We also decided that after looking at a few second-hand properties that we wanted to buy a new-build house because we wanted a stress-free move, no DIY or maintenance worries and know that everything would be lovely and new for us moving in.”

Buying their home off-plan has given the family and opportunity to get so much more than they expected from their home buying journey as Garry adds: “We’re so pleased that we reserved our new home while it was being built because we feel that it has given us more time to really enjoy the process of buying a new home and to prepare our daughter for the move.  We’ve had more time to make the right choices about how we wanted our home to look, and we’ve been able to include Aailyah in the whole experience by having the opportunity to bring her to visit the development often to see our house under construction.”
