Our Chilterns development will comprise of 48 stunning new homes in Aston Clinton, with the Wendover Arm of the Grand Union Canal running behind this picturesque development. The houses have been carefully laid out to follow sinuous landscaped roads and driveways giving an informal rural impression as you journey through the hamlet. The individual homes have been designed to reinforce the sense of a rural settlement that has grown out of the landscape over time, with a mix of traditional high quality yet subtle materials, with wide fronted elevations giving the homes a strong sense of individualism and an understated grandeur. Excellent Location

An attractive village green, including an equipped children’s play area, will form a focal point for the new development, while the village amenities of Aston Clinton are close by.

For commuters, The Chilterns provides excellent road links. The A41, which bypasses the village, provides quick access to the M25, just 15 miles away, while Milton Keynes and Luton are both within 20 miles of home. Stoke Mandeville railway station is just over three miles away and has regular and direct trains to London Marylebone and Aylesbury, while Tring railway station offers services to London Euston and Milton Keynes.

A major local attraction is ‘Go Ape Wendover Woods’, a thrilling outdoor adventure experience found to the south of the village, off Upper Icknield Way. Groups can explore the spectacular forest canopy via a fun-filled treetop rope course that features a scrambling net, a climbing wall and a total of 40 daring high-rope crossings. Split into five sections, the course also has several treetop zip wires to take on, the longest of which is 140 metres. All this rousing activity can be experienced while enjoying breath-taking views of the northern crest of the Chilterns from high up in the trees. Fully-trained staff provide comprehensive safety briefs, making the challenge a safe as well as exhilarating one.

Other fun activities, and less extreme ones at that, available at Wendover Woods include mountain biking in the forest and a children’s adventure play area, while several walking trails also offer visitors an opportunity to take in the sights. Regular weekly Nordic fitness sessions are also available.

Sponsorship for Prestwood 10k run aids the Chilterns MS Centre

We were proud to be the main sponsor of this year’s Prestwood 10k run and children’s run in aid of the Chilterns MS Centre in Wendover.

Our £750 donation to the event funded new banners publicising the children’s races and also went towards additional running costs.

Sharon Deacon, Community Fundraiser for the Chilterns MS Centre, says: “We need to raise £1 million a year to keep the centre going and this is one of our biggest fundraisers, so Taylor Wimpey’s donation is a huge help.”

The Prestwood 10k took place on Sunday 15th May and saw 194 runners take part in the 10k and 63 children take part in a series of fun runs.
“The race started about 23 years ago,” says Sharon. “We took it over as a charity about four years ago and have been running it ever since, with all the proceeds going to the centre.

“It’s growing every year. The children’s races only started last year.”

The Chilterns MS Centre provides services and advice for people with multiple sclerosis (MS), their families and carers. The centre treats 300 patients each week, with six to eight new patients referred every month, and its service is subsidised by donations and the efforts of the centre’s fundraising teams.

Sharon explains: “It’s a friendly meeting place as well as somewhere where they can access a wide range of therapies and treatments.

“The centre is a lifeline for people with MS. They may stay for a few hours and have a chat with other people with MS.

“The NHS doesn’t supply anywhere near enough funding for people with MS to help them retain their mobility and keep active, so it’s vital we keep the centre going.”

Gareth Jacob, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey South Midlands, says: “We believe that every single home we build is part of a community, and we are committed to ensuring that our exciting development at The Chilterns does much more than just provide high-quality properties for local people.

“That’s why we were delighted to support the Prestwood 10k and children’s run in aid of the Chilterns MS Centre, which does such fantastic work in the local community.”
