Supporting the communities in which we build
We will put over £88,000 towards improving facilities for Falmouth residents as part of the planning agreements for our new Chy An Dowr development.
Over £73,000 will go towards the construction of an off-site pedestrian and cycle path running alongside the site, with £15,000 set aside for the nearby Fal and Helford Special Area of Conservation. We will also create new public open spaces within the development, as well as a sustainable drainage system designed to ensure rainwater travels into the local drainage network without affecting homes and businesses.
Work on the development, off Bickland Water Road, Budock Parish, has already begun. Of the 94 new homes 33 will be affordable, with 70% of those properties available to rent and 30% sold as shared ownership. Ten per cent of the rented dwellings will be built in line with the Lifetime Homes Standard, ensuring they are easily adaptable for lifetime use.
Chy An Dowr will include two, three and four-bedroom homes and has been designed to provide a range of options for first time buyers and growing families.
Richard Harrison, Land and Planning Director for Taylor Wimpey Exeter, said: “We are committed to building high-quality new homes and making sure that our developments are sustainable and positively contribute to local communities. Affordable housing, sustainable transport and community facilities are all among the areas that benefit from planning contributions, and we are proud to be providing these facilities as part of our Chy An Dowr development.”
