The perfect place to be
Sherford is a lovely new community where residents can enjoy having everything they need right on their doorstep. Sherford will have its own sustainable economy - there will be plenty of shops and places to eat, and the Sherford masterplan also includes a leisure centre, town hall, library and sports pitches. Thanks to a range of open spaces with connecting pedestrian and cycle links, Sherford is one of the greenest and most sustainable new developments in the UK. There will be almost as much green space as there are buildings, with woodland, parks and community gardens spread throughout the town - including a 500-acre country park. Weekends can be spent exploring nature in the nearby beaches and South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or enjoying a day out in Plymouth city centre, just 4 miles away.

Sherfords first mural brings childrens vision to life
The mural was commissioned by the Sherford Consortium (Taylor Wimpey and Vistry Group, which includes Linden Homes, Bovis Homes and Countryside Partnerships*) as a gift to mark the completion of the school building and to create a lasting memento for the local community.
The creative journey began when pupils innovatively designed a nature-themed installation for the King's coronation, featuring a beautiful 'tree of wildlife' collage.
Plymouth-based artist Mrs Murals created the mural, transforming the children's vision into a permanent masterpiece that now takes pride of place in the school's library.
The completed mural showcases a tree of wildlife, incorporating elements of the pupils' original artwork and drawings of plants and animals, alongside the artist's own interpretations.
Emma Smith, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey Exeter, said: “We are immensely proud of the completion of Sherford Vale School and are delighted to gift this legacy mural to the school community. We hope it brings joy for many years to come and serves as a fitting centrepiece in this brilliant facility."
Susie Evans, Head Teacher at Sherford Vale, said: "It has been a joy to see the children's original artwork transformed into this permanent mural in the heart of our school. Mrs Murals has absolutely captured the children’s artwork and entwined it with her own artistic talent. A massive thank you to Sherford Consortium, Mrs Murals, and of course the children, for enabling the fruition of this idea."
We support the 10th community Christmas in Sherford
We are proud to support Sherford’s 10th annual Community Christmas, marking a decade of festive celebrations in the growing town.Working as part of the Sherford Consortium, Taylor Wimpey helped bring residents together for a weekend of events led by Sherford Community Land Trust and Sherford Community Church, including Santa’s sleigh tour, a Christmas market, children’s activities, carols by candlelight and a community nativity.
As part of our ongoing commitment to the community, Taylor Wimpey helped gift a 12ft Christmas tree, installed on the green in front of Sherford Vale School and illuminated with festive lighting, marking the start of a month of celebrations in Sherford. We also contributed to charitable giving, with a £300 donation to local causes, supporting Sherford Community Trust and The Mustard Tree, part of Plymouth Hospitals Charity.
Judy Talbot, from the Sherford Community Land Trust, added: “Sherford’s Community Christmas is always one of the highlights of the year. Thanks to the dedication of residents, volunteers and partners, we’ve once again created magical moments for families across the town. A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved and warm Christmas wishes to the whole community.”
Emma Smith, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey Exeter, said: “It’s fantastic to see how Sherford’s Community Christmas has grown over the past 10 years. Supporting events like this is an important part of our commitment to creating strong, connected communities, and we’re proud to play a role in bringing residents together at such a special time of year.”
