Statement bathroom tiles

Overhaul your bathroom with a fancy new floor…

Bathroom with statement design

Bathroom floors are big news

From timber look-a-likes to cool geo prints, bathroom flooring has sped up the style stakes to become a key design statement.

If you choose to have tiles fitted yourself after you’ve moved into your home, you could choose something slightly different. If you’re looking for a little inspiration to go it alone, here’s the latest trends…

Geo Prints

It’s time to dust off your protractor and ruler, as geometric bathroom tiles are bang on trend this season for a chic, graphic vibe. They are mind-bogglingly beautiful with an almost 3-D effect in cubes, spheres, octagons and diamonds. Pretty powerful in slick black and white. If monochrome is too harsh for your tastebuds, try a subtle geo print in earthy hues and let the pattern flow seamlessly from your floors to the walls.

Go Faux

Real timber isn’t great for the wet, steamy conditions of the bathroom, but there is an alternative. Enter the new breed of wood-effect ceramic and porcelain floor tiles with photorealistic prints and touchy-feely textures that mimic the real thing. Choose rustic weather washed boards, rich exotic timbers and even luxe metallic effects that are practical and easy to clean.

Moorish Floors

Wallpaper can be tricky in the bathroom, yes? Then harness your floor – or the ‘fifth wall’ – with beautiful Moroccan-style tiles underfoot. Encaustic tiles are traditionally made from cement in soft, chalky hues with Mediterranean-inspired patterns. Great for the vacation-at-home vibe and the matt, velvety finish is perfect for slippery bathroom floors.

Or else

Unleash your imagination and go for a totally different look. Think chipboard-effect tiles, swirled oily look patterns and even pretty floral vinyls…
