We are preparing an outline planning application for a new residential development on land at Rectory Lane, to the northwest of Ashington village.

 The emerging proposals include:

  • Up to 120 high-quality new homes

  • A mix of homes designed to meet local housing needs, including affordable homes

  • Sustainable drainage systems designed to accommodate surface water from the development

  • New landscaping, planting and biodiversity enhancements that respond to the site’s rural setting

  • Walking and cycling connections that help link the development with the village and local facilities

  • Public open space, encouraging healthy and active lifestyle

We welcome feedback on the proposals and have provided several ways for you to share your views.

We will be holding a public consultation from Monday 27th April until Friday 8th May 2026. To explain our proposals in detail we will host a community webinar from 7pm to 8pm on 27th April, when you will be able to ask questions directly of the project team.

You will be able to submit your comments via an online feedback form during the consultation period.
