Proposed Development

Land at Geilston Farm

Cardross, G82 5HG

Learn about our plans for an exciting new neighbourhood in Cardross.

We are preparing proposals to create a new neighbourhood and place to call home on land at Geilston Farm, Cardross.

We propose to deliver an impressive choice of high-quality homes, perfect for a wide range of potential buyers in the area including a 25% provision of affordable homes.

Our new homes will be sensitively set within the existing landscape framework and will include substantial green open spaces.  Our proposed development has room for homeowners to grow their own produce to encourage healthy and sustainable living, as well as substantial biodiversity enhancements such as bug hotels, bee bricks and hedgehog highways to encourage nature to thrive as part of our growing community for new and neighbouring residents. It is also our intention for our proposals to assist delivery of the proposed active travel route between Cardross and Helensburgh.

We are committed to working closely with the wider community, Argyll and Bute Council and other key stakeholders as our vision for the land evolves.

Some images and tours are used for illustrative purposes only and may include optional upgrades, subject to availability and at additional cost. Development managed by Taylor Wimpey West Scotland.

Site details

The site lies on the western edge of Cardross and consists of two clearly defined fields contained by field planting to the east and the Geilston burn and woodland to the west.  The railway forms the sites southern boundary.   Our proposals would represent a sustainable and natural extension to the village.  The site has significant potential for creating a healthy, sustainable and resilient new community which will connect well and integrate with the existing community.  Local living will provide our customers with the opportunity to meet the majority of their daily needs with essential amenities and services only a short walk or cycle away.

Indicative Development Framework

The indicative framework plan shows an interpretation of how the site could be developed with a strong identity that responds to both the immediate context and setting, and the wider area by adopting the key masterplanning and greenspace principles. Development has been arranged to work with the existing and proposed topography, retain mature trees, maximise views and southerly orientation, respect existing properties and respond appropriately to the location. The purpose of this plan is to provide further assurance that development on the site can be developed in a manner that is appropriate to the location and presents an exciting opportunity on the western edge of Cardross. This will be an attractive place to live with good access to local facilities and to the countryside. It is intended that this indicative framework plan will provide the starting point for the detailed planning application which will follow PPP consent.
