News and Updates News and Updates
Following our public consultation and engagement over the past few months, we can now announce that our consultation has closed.
We received a lot of very useful feedback from our different meetings and events, which the project team is currently reviewing, and may lead to some reconsideration of our proposals and layout. We are keen to take time to look at all areas of the scheme in detail and will soon have some revised proposals for you to look at.
In the meantime, if you wish to sign up for updates or have any questions about the proposed scheme, please call 01449 700545 or email [email protected].
About the site About the siteThe Site measures approximately 44 Acres, and consists of grassland, intersected by hedgerows, mature trees and vegetation; to the north west of the site there are allotments. The B1115 extends along the northern boundary of the site, with an existing development on the opposite side of the B1115. To the east of the site is individual detached dwellings and an arable field. To the south and south west is the A14, extending along the southern boundary and providing separation between Stowmarket and Stowupland.
Community CommunityOver half of the site is open space and we will be creating a biodiversity net gain as part of the proposals by enhancing the existing established orchards as a ‘community orchard’, in addition to increasing access to green spaces including a circular walking route around the site to be used by the community.
On the site we will also be providing land for a new pre school to serve families in the village. This will be located close to green links onsite so that staff and children at the pre school can easily use the play area & green spaces on-site.
We want to deliver a development which reflects the needs of the village, with affordable homes and a mix of different sizes and types of home onsite to create opportunities for families looking for more space, those looking to buy their first home or to downsize.
We will look to improve the A1120/B115 junction as part of our future planning application. We are speaking to the community, parish, district and county councils about how we can contribute to, or deliver, an appropriate improvement to this junction.
