We donate seed houses to create wildflower garden at local school
Pupils at a Sutton Coldfield school are being encouraged to create a wildflower garden thanks to a donation from our West Midlands team.
Dozens of seed bombs, shaped like little houses which contain wildflower seeds, have been donated to New Hall Primary School to help youngsters create a new nature area at the school.
Ben Walker, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey West Midlands, said: “Gardening provides so many positives in a person’s life, including nurturing a love of nature, so we wanted to support pupils at New Hall Primary School by encouraging them to create their own wildflower garden through this donation. Hopefully, it will foster a real joy for being outside, connecting with nature and a true love of gardening.”
Beckie Breedon, Headteacher at New Hall Primary School, said: “We are so grateful to Taylor Wimpey West Midlands for donating these seed houses. The children were enchanted by them, but more importantly, you don’t need to have any gardening experience to plant them, which is perfect for our young pupils. We are all now looking forward to seeing the seeds take root, a lovely wildflower garden flourish and spotting the insects and creatures that will hopefully visit and benefit from our new nature area.”
Ben added: “We are committed to supporting the communities in which we build, especially local schoolchildren.”
Working with the local community
Lindridge Chase ran a flag design competition with pupils at Hollyfield Primary School. Mia was named the winner and her design has been made into a flag which will be flying at Taylor Wimpey’s Lindridge Chase development.
