We Help to Transform Baguley Hall Primary School with Outdoor Reading Areas
In partnership with Magic Breakfast, we are continuing our support for the Manchester region by supporting Baguley Hall Primary School in creating two new outdoor reading areas, aiming to promote literacy amongst the children.
We are proud to collaborate on Magic Breakfast's initiative, Magic Makeovers, by providing the school with the much-needed resources to help encourage a love for reading and an improved learning environment for all.
The project features two distinct outdoor library spaces. One is located at the front of the school and is designed to be accessible for both children and parents, so they can enjoy reading at home. The second area, within the school’s playground, offers shelter from the weather and provides a comfortable environment for pupils to enjoy reading during school hours.
This new addition includes not only a covered reading space but also outdoor storage units, chalkboards, signs, matting and a selection of brand-new books.
Our community-focused approach extended to a collaboration with several local suppliers, who contributed significantly to the success of the project. Notable contributions include; C. Plumb Ltd for their donation of outdoor chalkboards, Roann Ltd who donated the outdoor storage units, Westbourne Civil Engineering Ltd who contributed towards the labour for the playground groundwork and sail shade fitting, Wren Kitchens Ltd who donated new books for the children and Designer Contracts, H. Mears (Furnishers) Ltd, Sign Build Ltd and Saint Group who contributed various resources and support.
Ali Roberts, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Magic Breakfast, said: “Magic Breakfast are thrilled to have our partner, Taylor Wimpey, participating in Magic Makeovers to support Baguley Hall Primary School. This collaboration highlights the power of community working together to enhance the educational experience of children.”
Kate Bulman, Head Teacher at Baguley Hall Primary School, said: "We can't thank Taylor Wimpey, Magic Breakfast and all the contributors enough. They were so enthusiastic about the project and so very generous. We now have the outdoor library of our dreams."
Sam Evans, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Manchester, said: "We are so delighted to have supported Baguley Hall Primary School and play a role in promoting literacy among the children. Encouraging a love for reading at a young age is crucial, and we hope these outdoor reading areas will inspire students and families alike. When we can invest in our children and young people, and the places they live, the benefits are seen and felt across Baguley Hall Primary School."
The reading areas and outdoor libraries at Baguley Hall Primary School are now open and available for the children to enjoy now that the new term has commenced.
The initiative perfectly aligns with our commitment to giving back to the communities local to where we build. Working together develops relationships, skills, and confidence, empowering the local community and the people they share it with. Through the partnership with Magic Breakfast, we donate to the charity annually, helping to fund nutritious breakfasts with partnered schools.
