To help the 8th Aldershot Scout Group re-start and enjoy activities outside again after the recent COVID-19 lockdown, our West London team has donated over £600 to the Group for the purchase of three outdoor shelters.
The shelters will be used for the group to enjoy outdoor activities, even when the weather is unreliable. The Scout Group, which has over 60 members, helps the youth of Aldershot and its surrounding areas build confidence and develop important skills for life, as well as form lifelong friendships.
Lynnette Norris, Group Scout Leader of the 8th Aldershot Scout Group, said: “As we are currently looking to restart face to face Scouting, we will be trying to organise for as many as possible of our activities to be outdoors. We would like to thank Taylor Wimpey West London for providing the new functional shelters, which will help to ensure we are able to operate whilst following the COVID-19 social distancing rules. We look forward to using them in the future as we meet as a group again and return to camping.”
Gemma Bibby, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey West London, said: “Scouting is a brilliant opportunity for young people across the country to develop life skills. We’re proud to donate these much-needed shelters to the 8th Aldershot Scout group as we know they’ll provide a great space for the group to meet outdoors. It is so important that we provide support to community groups to help them start meeting face to face again where possible.”
