Based in Sturminster Newton, the charity was set up in 2011 and provides invaluable support and friendship to families who are going through difficult times.

Trained volunteers, with parenting experience, can visit those in need regularly and offer emotional and practical support. This friendly parent-to-parent support is a simple yet effective way of enabling families to get back on track.

Jamie Keast, Support Co-ordinator at Home-Start North Dorset, commented: “Here at Home-Start North Dorset we work tirelessly to support those in our community who need it the most. Since our launch in 2011, we have achieved positive outcomes for hundreds of families living in the community and have made a real difference to the early stages of childhood for many children and parents. A donation like this from Taylor Wimpey will be put directly towards the service we provide and on behalf of the entire Home-start team, we are thankful for the support.”
