The leading housebuilder now has its name emblazoned on the shirts of Whiteley Wanderers Football Club’s U8s Raptors team. The deal has seen Taylor Wimpey fund 10 sets of shirts, shorts and socks.

Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties is currently building new homes at two developments near to the football club – the near sell out, Burridge Green, and Woodlands Chase, which together form part of the new sustainable Whiteley Meadows community.

Paul Veness at Whiteley Wanderers Football Club said: “As you can imagine, our younger players are always growing, so we are regularly in need of a brand new kit and that can be very expensive. We can’t thank Taylor Wimpey enough for their sponsorship deal, which means the players look the part on the pitch, and it helps to keep the financial pressure off the club and the players’ parents and guardians.”

Roz Wells, Sales Director at Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, said: “As a community-minded housebuilder, we are always keen to support organisations in the areas where we build our new homes. Whiteley Wanderers are a true community club, and no doubt many of the children growing up in our homes at Whiteley Meadows will turn out for their various sides over the coming years.

“We are proud to have our name on the shirts of the Raptors team and wish all of the players well for the rest of the season.”

It has since expanded to 33 teams, including eight girls’ sides, and has three adult men’s teams. It has around 450 players on its books, plus 80 volunteer managers, coaches, helpers and committee members who all give up their time freely to provide grassroots football for local children and adults.
