Supporting the local community
As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting local communities, we sponsored a rubber duck at the annual Chester Duck Race. To help it stand out from the crowd whilst it raced down the River Dee, we asked pupils from Cherry Grove Primary School in Chester to decorate it.
The £250 duck sponsorship has gone towards The Countess of Chester Hospital’s Blue Skies Balcony appeal which is raising funds to build a balcony in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit so that patients have access to an outdoor space in a safe and infection control supported environment.
Nicola Stubbs, Corporate and Events Fundraiser at Countess of Chester Hospital, said: “We are delighted with the amount of support we have received this year for the Duck Race. Having not hosted the event for two years we are excited to have brought it back to the River Dee this April.
