Feeling of belonging
This is an increase on our donations to three school uniform banks last year, and our aim for this year is to help boost their efforts to provide school uniforms for children returning to schools in local communities across the Central Belt after the summer break. This year’s recipients are: The Edinburgh School Uniform Bank; Carefree Kids East Lothian; The School Bank West Lothian; Back to School East Kilbride; Cool School Uniforms (North Lanarkshire) and Back to School East Renfrewshire.
The general aim of school uniform banks is to support families in need because every child deserves to look and feel smart at school, to feel that they belong, and to avoid the negative effects of hardship on their wellbeing and education. Some uniform banks accept and issue pre-loved and new school clothing, while others only accept and provide donations of new items – but they are all united in their mission to provide positive support for the families and children who need them in their local areas.
