We show support for Wantage footballers

We have partnered with Wantage Town FC to help kit out a youth team and provide potentially life-saving support to players and supporters with a defibrillator donation

We put £650 in sponsorship towards a new kit for the male under-18s team.

As well as helping the players look the part as they develop their skills, we also donated a public access defibrillator (PAD) from a nearby site that had recently been completed.

As part of a joint initiative with the British Heart Foundation (BHF), we are giving potentially life-saving PAD’s to communities around the UK to help people who suffer from an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.

Steve George, under-18s Manager at Wantage Town FC, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Taylor Wimpey for their generous support. Not only have they funded a new kit for our under-18s development squad, but they have also ensured that we are better-equipped to deal with a medical emergency should one occur.

“It’s great to see a large company like Taylor Wimpey working with a community club such as Wantage Town FC, and we hope to see residents from the Downland development watching our matches and joining our youth teams.”

Danielle Heard, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey Oxfordshire, said: “Sports clubs are at the heart of their communities and it’s important to us that we support these institutions wherever we build.

“To be able to help Wantage Town FC with both a new kit and a defibrillator that could potentially save someone’s life is a real privilege. We are proud to be able to make this equipment readily accessible at the club.”
