Carnival raises money for good causes

The annual Harborough Carnival, which was held on Saturday 11th June, has been running for over 100 years. With the support of Taylor Wimpey and other local businesses, the carnival aims to raise money and awareness for a number of good causes and charities in the local area.

This year, the procession included colourful floats celebrating the theme of ‘Past, Present and Future’, as well as a variety of stalls showcasing an array of local produce and live entertainment. For the first time, there was also a 10km race through the streets of Market Harborough.

Paul Milligan, Chairman of the Market Harborough Carnival Committee, said: “There has been a Carnival in Market Harborough for over 100 years, and we want to keep that going for as long as possible. After a three year absence, we were delighted to be able to bring it back to the town, and were blown away by how popular it was. Of course, we wouldn't be able to put on a carnival without the support of sponsors, so we are eternally grateful for all the support we have received. We will be returning with a bigger and better carnival next year!"

Olivia Peters, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey East Midlands, said: “Giving back to local businesses and organisations that surround our developments means a great deal to us. Harborough Carnival is a fantastic event which brings the community together every year and we were delighted to offer our support. We hope everyone had a great time!”
