Bird box painting competition

We invited children from Happy Kids Club to take part in a competition to paint their own bird box, and the three winning designs will be placed in the development show home gardens, and at the sales office before spring.

We supplied the club, which operates from Newcastle Great Park’s community centre, with all the materials needed for the competition, and 30 children took part.

Taylor Wimpey North East’s Sales and Marketing Director, Sarah Northcott, said: “We’re always looking for new and innovative ways to involve the local community in our developments, so we were delighted when Happy Kids Club agreed to take part in our bird box competition.

“We’re really looking forward to seeing Amy, Alexandra and Paige’s winning designs installed on the Brunton Rise development. Not only will we be providing brand new and stylish homes for Taylor Wimpey’s customers, but for the local birds too!”

Noori Askary, Deputy Manager at Happy Kids Club added: “We were very pleased to be asked to take part in Taylor Wimpey’s bird box competition.

“The children had great fun coming up with the designs for and painting their bird boxes. Amy, Alexandra and Paige were delighted to win 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, and the other children were able to take their boxes home to install in their own gardens.”
