We help young family find dream home at Stour View

Melanie Phipps, 33, and her partner Shaun, 32, are making the most of more space both inside and out after moving from their two bedroom flat in Mile End, Colchester, to a spacious four bedroom home at our Stour View development in Brantham, Suffolk

The keys to a dream home

With all the restrictions of the lockdown and a new baby on the way, the couple dreamed of more indoor space and a garden for their growing family. 

Melanie said: “During the lockdown, we realised how much we missed having a garden, and so we decided to look around to see what was on the market. We then found out I was pregnant, so we decided it was definitely for the best that we moved into a house as we were living in my two bedroom flat at the time.”
Looking to move closer to Shaun’s work in Ipswich, and also closer to their family, the couple made their first visit to Stour View. Melanie continues: “We both really liked the area and it was close to my partner’s work and also my sister's house in Lawford, so it seemed like a perfect location. The development looked attractive and was close to local amenities and a good primary school.”

“Prior to our house search, we didn't know much about Taylor Wimpey homes. After doing some research, we were happy with the reviews about the company and everyone that we spoke to in the sales office was very friendly and informative. Monty and Dawn were super helpful and made the process of buying a lot smoother than we ever expected.”

The family were over the moon when they managed to secure their dream four-bedroom Trusdale and got the keys in November 2021.  “The Trusdale had everything we wanted in terms of room size, number of bathrooms and a south-facing garden. I love the kitchen/diner area as it is great for entertaining, but my favourite part of the house has to be the living room - it looks out to the garden, making it light all day long. It’s just the perfect space for relaxing.”

Now settled into their new home at Stour View, the family are enjoying life in their new friendly community. Melanie adds: “Whilst there are still a lot more houses to be built, there is already a small community amongst those who have moved in. Everyone seems friendly and neighbourly. We are really happy here and already settling into the local area.”
