Sixteen local children from Portfield Primary Academy were invited to take part in a competition to paint and decorate their own bird box, with all the materials provided for the competition.

The three winning designs are to now be installed at the development later this year.  The winners - Gusta, George and Erin were also awarded Waterstone gift vouchers.

Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties Sales and Marketing Director, Rosamund Wells, said: “We’re delighted the children at Portfield Primary Academy had such fun creating their bird box designs. We hope the children are proud of their designs and enjoy knowing they’ve helped create stylish new homes for resident birds in the area!”

Andrew Strong, Head Teacher at Portfield Primary Academy, added: “We were really happy to take part in this design competition, which allowed our children to be creative and understand the importance of bird boxes in our community.”
