We give a further boost to Winchburgh Community Growing Group

To celebrate Community Garden Week earlier this month, which aimed to shine a light on the amazing range of community and school gardens across the country, we donated £1,000 to Winchburgh Community Growing Group.

Supporting the local community

Our support of the Winchburgh Community Growing Group, which has its community garden based right in the heart of Winchburgh’s new Auldcathie District Park, marks our ongoing commitment to Winchburgh as work continues at our development of new homes at Auldcathie View which overlooks the new park.

Commenting on the additional support that it has received from Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, John West, who heads up Winchburgh Community Growing Group said: “Our community garden is growing and developing as each week goes by, supported by a great team of volunteers who help out each Saturday.

“We have plans to use the generous £1,000 funding towards our sensory garden and kids’ zone which is located near the toddler play within Auldcathie Park. As a thank you, WCGG will add a plaque to the mini kids’ playhouse in the sensory garden to mark the continued support over the years we have received from Taylor Wimpey for which our volunteers and community are extremely grateful.

“Winchburgh Community growing group celebrates its 5th Birthday on the 3 June – anyone can volunteer and get involved in the community garden – we meet every Saturday 12pm – 4pm.”
