JJ Effect CIC wins top community prize
JJ Effect Community Interest Company (CIC) , a Preston-based enterprise, was established by Byron Highton in 2014 after the murder of his brother Jon-Jo.
In order to ensure that no other family or community would ever have to endure the sheer devastation that it caused, Byron decided to draw on his experience to provide education to the younger generation, helping them to steer away from knife crime, county lines, grooming and criminal exploitation.
Byron said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive this donation from Taylor Wimpey as it will go towards purchasing gifts for local children, bringing a bright smile to their faces. We are also very thrilled that we were nominated by people within our community, which shows that the work we do for local young people is being recognised.”
