We sponsor Christmas Lights event

We have sponsored the Farmers On Christmas Lights Tour 2023 which took place on Saturday 16th December to raise money for Garden House Hospice Care in Letchworth Garden City, nearby to our upcoming Weston Gate development.

Supporting our communities

The Farmers On Christmas Lights Tour returned after a successful launch last year. 200 tractors and farm vehicles covered in Christmas lights and decorations took to the streets of Baldock, Letchworth and Hitchin as thousands of people came out to watch.

Our generous £1,800 sponsorship helped to cover the event’s running costs and  maximise the income for Garden House Hospice Care. In total, the Farmers On Christmas Lights Tour raised over £10,000 for the hospice, which provides essential services for patients and their families facing life limiting illnesses.

Every year, Garden House Hospice Care gives free specialist palliative care to over 900 people in North Hertfordshire, Stevenage and the surrounding towns and villages of central Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire. The hospice is partly funded by the NHS, relying on community support to cover the remaining costs of its services which amount to £6.5 million a year.

Jason Turner, Sales Manager at Taylor Wimpey North Thames said: “We’re delighted to support the Farmers On Christmas Lights Tour this year. This is such a unique and wonderful event and we’re pleased to hear that the turnout was a record success.

“The availability of free specialist hospice care is vital to those and their families facing a life limiting illness who need support during such a difficult time. We hope that the proceeds raised from this event and our sponsorship contribution will help to alleviate the running costs of the services provided by Garden House Hospice Care.”
