Residents at our Rochberie Heights development in Rugby celebrate Pride

Despite only an 80 metre route, residents on Batt Close, part of our Rochberie Heights development, have come together to celebrate love this Pride month.

Love is love

Around 40 residents from the development took part in the parade, with each household also creating costumes and decorations for the parade.

This year’s event is the fourth Pride event held by the community, with each home also contributing multicultural food for a buffet and competitions and activities also taking place. It is hoped that the residents at Batt Close will continue to host Pride events for years to come.

Ben Goodwin, resident at Batt Close, said: “We are so lucky to live within a community that celebrates love in all its forms – creating a safe space where everyone can thrive and truly be themselves. On Batt Close, Pride truly begins at home, and we have bonded over our shared values of community, equality and inclusivity. The celebration is truly a collective endeavour by everyone who lives on the street, from youngsters helping create a rainbow crossing in chalk to each home providing enough bunting to engulf Batt Close in flags and rainbows."
