We support primary schools in Walmer with World Book Day donations

The Downs C of E Primary School and Deal Parochial C of E Primary School in Walmer each received £250 from our South East team in support of the national event which took place on Thursday 2nd March.

Now in its 26th year, World Book Day aims to encourage young people to discover the joy of reading. 

Justine Brown, Head Teacher of Deal Parochial Church of England Primary School, said: “World Book Day is a fantastic initiative which really encourages children to develop their reading. Having new books to get stuck into helps to keep up an enthusiasm for reading all year round and we would like to thank Taylor Wimpey for their kind donation.”

Jason Stokes, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey South East, said: “Books are a fantastic way for children to learn about the world around them and to feed their imaginations. We were delighted to support The Downs C of E Primary School and Deal Parochial C of E Primary School with a donation to celebrate World Book Day and hope that their new books will be enjoyed for years to come.”
