Worthy winners

Residents living in Bingham and the surrounding local area were invited to nominate local good causes. Once all of the entries were considered, we awarded The Little Ted Foundation with the top prize.

The Little Ted Foundation was founded by Jessica Neal and her husband Lee following the loss of their 16-month-old baby boy, Ted, to cancer in April 2022. The Foundation supports families across the UK with seriously ill children and bereaved families who have lost a child by offering grants and getaways when families need them most.

Jessica Neal, Co-founder and Managing Director at The Little Ted Foundation said: “We are really delighted to be the winner of Taylor Wimpey’s Community Chest. This £500 award brings us a step closer to purchasing our second caravan, "Little Ted's Seaside Lodge", located in Devon. With this, we will be able to provide our free of charge Getaways to twice the number of families with seriously ill children compared to our current capacity, allowing these families to create invaluable shared moments and treasured memories.”

Steven Clarke, Technical Director at Taylor Wimpey East Midlands, said: “At Taylor Wimpey we are proud to support local causes such as The Little Ted Foundation. They do such fantastic work and we hope our donation has gone some way towards helping them to continue to provide their invaluable help to those children and their families who need it.

“We were delighted with the number of nominations we received from the local community throughout this competition and would like to thank everyone who took part.”
