In a powerful demonstration of unity against racism, we collaborated with the Leyton Orient trust and provided support to their Show Racism The Red Card Event.

Supporting and educating our communities

The anti-racism educational event was an
impactful gathering that welcomed over 90 local pupils from St Patrick's Catholic Primary School and Bancroft Primary School, giving
these young minds the confidence to confront
and combat racism in society.

The pupils in attendance were incredibly engaged as they delved into enlightening workshops, which provided the opportunity for nurturing discussions and insights necessary to recognise and challenge racism in their surroundings.

Adding a dash of excitement to the day, the young participants were treated to an exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour of the Leyton Orient stadium, where they were able to meet the first team players from the men's, women's, and academy teams of Leyton Orient.

Paul Hill, SRtRC Regional Manager for the South, expressed his enthusiasm about the event and said: "This event epitomises the potency of education and community collaboration in eradicating racism. Witnessing such passionate engagement from young minds in the fight against racism is truly inspiring."

Jack Cunningham, SRtRC Educator who led the anti-racism workshop, said: “We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Taylor Wimpey for generously sponsoring Show Racism The Red Card event and the Leyton Orient Trust.

This partnership with Taylor Wimpey helped drive a positive change in the community, demonstrating the potential football has to serve as a platform for education, inclusivity, and the fight against racism.”
