A helping hand
Based at the Manor Leisure Centre on Station Road, the Whittlesey Emergency Food Aid (WEFA) was established in November 2014 to help those experiencing food poverty in the area.
WEFA relies entirely on donations to support families and individuals with weekly food parcels, which can also include toiletries and household products.
The number of families in need of support has increased significantly over the past two months due to the cost of living crisis, and the volunteers are now servicing over 100 families on a regular basis.
Steven Clarke, Technical Director at Taylor Wimpey East Midlands, said: “With the rising cost of living putting a strain on local food banks and charities, we are really pleased to be able to lend a helping hand and support Whittlesey Emergency Food Aid (WEFA).”
