We help give Warrington pupils a taste of the world of work

Our team joined hands with Magic Breakfast charity to give Warrington primary school pupils a valuable insight into future career paths.

We visited Magic Breakfast partner school St Ann’s CE Primary School on 8th March to deliver an ‘Aspiration Day’ workshop, giving Year 6 pupils an explanation of the various career paths within a company. Pupils were able to ask whatever questions they could think of and take part in mock interviews.

We have established a national partnership with Magic Breakfast, a charity that provides free, nutritious breakfasts to school children in need.

Through this collaboration, we have contributed £80,000, enabling the charity to serve over 285,714 breakfasts to pupils in England and Scotland from September 2023 to September 2024.

The organisations are also carrying out a programme of school visits across the region and beyond. We are building new homes across the North West, including at the Aldon Wood development in Warrington.

Liz Grumbley, Teacher at St Ann's CE Primary School, said: “The pupils enthusiastically crafted questions for the Taylor Wimpey team and thoroughly enjoyed the workshop. Thanks to Taylor Wimpey and Magic Breakfast for offering this enriching experience to the children. We hope we can work with them in the future on other exciting initiatives.”

Linda Worthington, Engagement Partner for Magic Breakfast, said: “The Aspiration Day went really well. I am not sure who was more excited - the staff from Taylor Wimpey or the children.

“Once the interviews got underway, everyone was chatting, laughing and engaging wonderfully. It was lovely to see the social interaction between the pupils and the staff from Taylor Wimpey. I’m sure the pupils got a great deal out of the event, and hopefully have been inspired to look at different job roles in the future too.”
