We Support The Aldwinians Ladies & Girls Rugby Tournament For The Second Time

We have sponsored the Aldwinians Ladies & Girls Rugby Tournament for the second time this year with a £600 donation.

Aldwinians Ladies and Girls Rugby Tournament

Celebrating women in rugby

The annual event took place on Saturday 25th May at Audenshaw Park, located close to our Droylsden development, The Orangery, and was organised by the Aldwinians Ladies & Girls Rugby Union Football Club to celebrate women in rugby.

The £600 contribution to the tournament is part of our ongoing commitment to giving back to the communities local to our developments and was used for payment of staff, including referees, physios and first aid staff. The remaining funds will be put towards the creation of female and mixed ability changing facilities at the venue for the upcoming seasons.

An event for the community

Now in its second year, the Aldwinians Ladies & Girls Rugby Tournament 2024 was organised on a larger scale than last year's event with a DJ and a bouncy castle for the local community and families to enjoy.

As a thank you for the donation, one of the trophies used at the event was named 'The Taylor Wimpey Plate'. Six ladies and girls teams from the North of England played up to 12 games of rugby, with the Ponteland Tigers securing the Emily's Cup, Aldwinians Ladies winning the Taylor Wimpey Plate, and the Ossett Women taking home the Vase.
