We support primary schools with World Book Day donations

World Book Day celebrations at St Philip’s Catholic Primary School in Uckfield and Stone St Mary's C of E Primary School in Dartford were boosted by a donation from our South East team

World Book Day celebrates 27th anniversary

St Philip’s Catholic Primary School in Uckfield and Stone St Mary's C of E Primary School in Dartford each received £250 from our South East team in support of the national event which took place on Thursday 7th March.

Sarah McCurdy, Acting Headteacher at St Philip’s Catholic Primary School, said: “Reading is such an important life skill and something that we encourage all of our pupils to do more of. Having new books to get stuck into helps to keep up an enthusiasm for reading and we would like to thank Taylor Wimpey for their kind donation.”
 
Jane Rolfe, Headteacher at Stone St Mary's C of E Primary School, said: “Every year, we celebrate World Book Day to ignite children's excitement for reading. Thanks to Taylor Wimpey’s donation, we’ll be able to add some new books to our library and we can’t wait for our pupils to enjoy some new stories.”
