Our site forms part of the wider HSG19 site as allocated for residential development in The City of Edinburgh Council’s Second Local Development Plan. The LDP allocates the wider site for 1700-2000 new homes.
We submitted an application for Planning Permission in Principle for the site in September 2014. The application was for a residential development of up to 250 new homes together with associated landscaping, open space and access. Whilst our application was recommended for approval by Council Planning and Transportation Officers, the application was refused by Elected Members at their Committee in April 2015 as they considered that it was premature in advance of the emerging Local Development Plan.
We have now submitted a new Planning Permission in Principle application for the site. As the site is now allocated in the Local Development Plan, the Council will not consider it to be premature.
