West Craigs, Maybury

West Craigs - Land off Maybury Road - City of Edinburgh

We are working with The City of Edinburgh Council to bring forward an exciting development of new homes on the outskirts of West Edinburgh.

Keep up to date

  • Overview

Our site forms part of the wider HSG19 site as allocated for residential development in The City of Edinburgh Council’s Second Proposed Local Development Plan.  The Proposed LDP allocates the wider site for 1700-2000 new homes.  The second Proposed LDP was submitted to Scottish Ministers in May 2015 for Examination which has been ongoing since, and has recently been published.

We submitted an application for this site in September 2014.  The application was for a residential development of up to 250 new homes together with associated landscaping, open space and access.  Whilst our application was recommended for approval by Council Planning and Transportation Officers, the application was refused by Elected Members at their Committee in April 2015 as they considered that it was premature in advance of the emerging Local Development Plan.

We are now working with the Council and adjacent landowner with a view to submitting a new application later this year.  It is intended that the determination of this application by the Council will be after the Local Development Plan has been adopted by the Council and will not be considered premature.
