  • Sam hits the back of the net with bedroom design

Football-fanatic Sam McCarthy has netted himself a £200 toy voucher after winning a competition to design a bedroom at our Westlow Abbey development in Wixams, Bedfordshire.

Nine-year-old Sam’s winning design features a football-patterned rug, a football lightshade and a poster of his favourite player, Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen.

The Spurs fan also included a TV showing Match of the Day and a World Cup trophy in the picture of his dream bedroom.

He says: “I’m a big football fan so I decided to draw a football carpet, a football light and a stripy bed in my dream bedroom. Art is one of my favourite subjects and I was really pleased to win the competition.

“I am going to spend my prize on some new WWE wrestling figures, because I like wrestling almost as much as I like football!”

Children were invited to enter the dream bedroom competition at the launch of the stunning new ‘Coniston’ showhome launch at Westlow Abbey in January.

Sam wins a £200 voucher for a nationwide toy shop, while his parents will receive £200 in high street vouchers.
