    We welcome first residents to Stortford Fields

    Following the launch of the Stortford Fields development last Spring, we recently welcomed our first residents to join the new community in Bishop’s Stortford. James Anderson and Zsanett Toth moved into their new three bedroom Crofton G at the development in November last year and have been getting used to life as property owners.

    The couple recently moved from a two bedroom rented flat located in the town centre as they wanted a more family-friendly environment yet still close enough to the local amenities. The Jackson Square Shopping Centre is a short walk away from the Stortford Fields development and has a variety of shopping outlets to choose from. Bishop’s Stortford train station is also located nearby offering excellent commuting services to allow the couple to get to the capital in just over an hour. It was also important for James to be close enough to Birchwood High School and Summercroft Primary School, which are both a short drive away from the development, so that his children could still visit him regularly.

    James and Zsanett found the whole process fairly straight-forward and were delighted with the customer service they received. Commenting on their experience with Taylor Wimpey, James said: “We found that there was always someone on hand to deal with our enquiries and nothing seemed like too much effort for the sales team. Candice, a dedicated Customer Relations Manager, even helped with things non-related to Taylor Wimpey, and Dennis, the Site Manager, was also particularly helpful. As there was no buying chain, the whole process was really easy as Taylor Wimpey completed the homes quickly which allowed us to move in before Christmas.”

    The couple now feel settled into their new home, however they’re still getting used to some aspects of life in a three bedroom property having previously lived in a two bedroom flat. James said: “We are loving the new house, it’s nice and quiet but we’re still not quite used to having to climb the stairs everyday! Having a garden is still a big thing for us and having parking seems like a luxury. Everything still looks and feels new and we’re looking forward to seeing what the finished product of the development will look like, and what it will offer in terms of community amenities.”



    TWNT - World Book Day

    Northgate Primary School receives donation for World Book Day


    We have donated £250 to Northgate Primary School in Bishop’s Stortford to celebrate World Book Day which took place on Thursday 1st March. World Book Day aims to encourage more children to love reading and our donation will go towards providing children at Northgate Primary School with new books to enjoy.

    Mrs J Tanner, Headteacher at Northgate Primary School, which is located near to our Stortford Fields development commented: “I would like to say a big thank you to Taylor Wimpey on behalf of everyone at our school. We really appreciate their donation, which will go a long way towards new reading material. Books are a great way to fire up children’s imaginations and to teach them about the world around them, so it will be brilliant to be able to add some new titles to our school library.”

    Jack Costello, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey North Thames, said: “World Book Day is a great opportunity to celebrate books and reading and, as part of our commitment to giving back to the communities in which we build, it was our pleasure to donate £250 to Northgate Primary School.     Help to Buy: Equity Loan


    The Government backed Help to Buy: Equity Loan scheme is available here. The scheme is open to both first time buyers and home movers alike, and means you'll need just 5% deposit to buy a new home.
