This is how much Taylor Wimpey has contributed last yearJames and Abbie are thrilled with their new home
James and Abbie, first time buyers who relocated from Southend-on-Sea embarked on a new chapter at The Arboretum in Haverhill.
James explains their journey, “Abbie and I were both living with our parents in Southend-on-Sea in Essex. We were searching for somewhere quiet without being too far from major transport links and cities. With Cambridge right on the doorstep, Haverhill was a fantastic option for us.”
James continues to talk about why they chose The Arboretum, “The scenic views of the quaint countryside surrounding the development are beautiful and really drew us in. After looking at various homes, we had our hearts set on The Arboretum as it gave us a blank canvas to work with; allowing us to choose the kitchen, bathrooms, and carpets we wanted without the stress of renovating.”
We appreciated the support as first-time buyers
James and Abbie explain about how the Taylor Wimpey team were on-hand, every step of the way, “As first-time buyers, we really appreciated having the support of the on-site team to guide us through our journey. The team kept us informed with weekly updates and allowed us to visit as often as we wanted. They helped us navigate mortgages and solicitors, making the entire process smooth and stress-free, and on moving day, everything was perfect - it was great.”The couple moved into the two-bedroom Beaford home, “We chose a house that was a great starter home with enough space for us to grow. We love the second bedroom which we’ve turned into an office where we can work in peace and it means we have an area away from the lounge so we don't mix work and relaxing.
Haverhill offers everything we need on our doorstep
The Arboretum is conveniently located with accessible transport links and amenities close by. James says, “We have everything we need right on our doorstep. There are plenty of shops, gyms, and there’s a pub just down the road where we can enjoy Sunday lunches.”
Reflecting on their move, “We’re absolutely loving life at The Arboretum. Having our own space which we’ve personalised has really been a dream come true, and we’re thrilled to have a house we truly love and we can’t wait to watch the community grow.”
James and Abbie’s advice for home hunters, “Go for it! You couldn’t be in better hands with Taylor Wimpey - it’s been a smooth and stress-free process and we can’t thank the team enough.”
Supporting the local community
We are very proud to have sponsored the Haverhill Science Festival with a £500 contribution. Fostering community engagement and education in the realm of science within the local area, the inaugural festival ran from 22nd to 27th April and aimed to elevate educational aspirations in Haverhill.
By showcasing STEM opportunities, including job prospects in science, technology, and engineering, the festival aimed to attract entrepreneurial ventures to Haverhill.
Our commitment aligns with Haverhill's evolving housing landscape, catering to professionals and fostering economic growth. The festival engaged over 2000 students from all local schools, and featured inspiring talks by Helen Sharman, Britain's first astronaut, and a community fun day at East Town Park, fostering excitement for science through hands-on activities like rocket building.
Welcome to Haverhill
There’s a wide range of sports clubs to get involved with in Haverhill, from cricket and football to netball and badminton. It’s not just sports you can get involved with either, there’s dance and music clubs and baby and toddle groups, so there’s something for everyone.
For those who enjoy going out, Haverhill has a number of welcoming pubs, bars and restaurants to enjoy or if you have children, there’s activities at Abbeycroft Leisure Centre or The Zone, a family-friendly venue ideal for playdates.
Our investment
A home is more than just a house, it’s also about the community that surrounds it. And that’s why we’re invested in building communities that support local businesses, provide much needed facilities for the area and bring people together.
