We award £1,500 to local groups through Bargeddie Community Chest
We have announced the recipients of our Bargeddie Community Chest, linked to our nearby Manse View development. Originally launched as a £1,000 fund to support charities, community groups and organisations that make a positive difference locally, the response from Bargeddie residents was so strong that we increased the total fund to £1,500.
Three organisations have now been selected to receive donations:
• The Safety Zone – awarded £500 Craig from The Safety Zone said the funding will be used to facilitate group activities for children, helping the organisation continue its work providing safe, supportive spaces for young people.
• Shining Stars ASN Group – awarded £500 Katie Slavin explained that the donation will help provide extra support for children in the dance groups, ensuring more young people with additional support needs can participate fully.
• Bargeddie Christian Centre – awarded £500 Pastor Jim McLaughlin said the contribution will help the centre continue providing its activities for the community, supporting local families and individuals who rely on its services.
Audrey Ross, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: “The response from the Bargeddie community has been incredible, and it is clear how much local groups mean to the people who live here. We were delighted to increase the Community Chest to £1,500 so we could support even more of the fantastic organisations making a real difference. As Manse View continues to grow, we’re proud to play a part in helping these groups thrive and continue their vital work.”
This initiative reflects our wider commitment to supporting the communities in which it builds.
