The newest members at our Cranbrook development have settled into their new home and are now enjoying low maintenance living.
Janet Robson, 62, Paul Berrett, 64, and their Cockapoo Dotty have downsized to a low maintenance home in a safe, friendly community after finding a home that ticks all their boxes at Cranbrook.
The couple made the decision to downsize from a three bedroom detached family home and have now settled into a two bedroom semi detached home, The Canford.
When asked why they chose Cranbrook, Janet said: “Being retired, we were really keen on a low maintenance property - something a little smaller than our previous home that made life a little easier for us. Also, with two of our grandchildren nearby, we wanted to stay close to continue spending time with them.”
When asked to describe their buying journey, they replied: “The entire team was a pleasure to deal with, there was never any pressure and they always returned our calls to answer any questions we had. We’d like to thank Sophie and Nic on the Taylor Wimpey sales team. Their service has been excellent from day one, even after we moved in and it’s really appreciated.”
The couple expressed their thoughts on Cranbrook and the surrounding community: “We have two parks on either side of the development which has been perfect for our grandchildren and walks with Dotty!
“Cranbrook is a wonderful community, we’ve found it to be a safe, friendly place to live and we look forward to getting to know a few more of our neighbours.
Supporting Cranbrook FC
The £500 donation was dedicated to purchasing new goal posts, a vital piece of equipment that will directly benefit the club's teams.Steve Bampton, Chairman at Cranbrook United, said: “We are unbelievably grateful for the generous donation from Taylor Wimpey! Thanks to this support we’ve been able to purchase brand new goals for our youngest teams, and we can't express how excited the children are to have them.
“The high-level equipment we now have at our disposal truly sets the standard at a club like ours. It’s only through the kindness of donations and sponsorship that we can offer such opportunities to our young members. Taylor Wimpey’s contribution not only enhances their experience but also inspires them to continue playing football at grassroots level.”
Emma Smith, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey Exeter said: “We are pleased to have been able to sponsor Cranbrook FC and help them maintain their popular weekly training sessions with updated equipment. It’s great to see local sports clubs growing and thriving, and we’re excited to be part of that journey.”
Supporting the Cranbrook Arrows
At Taylor Wimpey we are keen to support local people and the communities we are building in so we were very proud to help Cranbrook Arrows netball club by sponsoring their new netball kit.
They had a successful season competing in multiple leagues across the county. The club's chair recently said, "Your generosity significantly impacted our club's success and all round presence on the court across the various leagues we play in, we had many compliments on the new dresses!".

VE Day Flag Collage with Cranbrook Education Campus
As part of its support for the important anniversary, we challenged pupils to put forward suggestions for a group collage. The design is now proudly displayed at the Cranbrook development, with some of the students at Cranbrook Education Campus visiting the sales information centre at the development for photos and to see the collage in action.
Hannah Wickens, Teacher at Cranbrook Education Campus, said: “It was great to be given the opportunity to see the completed collage in person with our students, who put forward some thoughtful and visually stunning designs. I know they really enjoyed taking part, and learning more about what Britons and Continental Europeans at the time went through during the Second World War in their fight for freedom.”
Emma Smith, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey Exeter, said: “It was so very important to us to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day, so we are extremely grateful that Cranbrook Education Campus students and staff created such wonderful designs for the VE Day 80 collage for members of the Cranbrook community to enjoy.”
