Our Investment
A home is more than just a house, it’s also about the community that surrounds it. And that’s why we invest in building communities that support local businesses, improve facilities in the area and help bring people together.
Supporting the Arts in Wakefield
We donated £250 to the Theatre Royal Wakefield which has been entertaining audiences for generations, with pantomimes, touring productions, music and dramas.
Away from the stage, the theatre is also dedicated to supporting members of the community through a range of activities. Groups and projects include weekly sessions for those most at risk of isolation, including refugees and asylum seekers, as well as children living with learning disabilities.
Sarah Shooter, Head of Development at the Theatre Royal Wakefield, said: This donation will allow us to continue to be a focal point for the Arts in Wakefield.”
We name our chosen charity for 2026
This year, we will be fundraising to support Martin House Children’s Hospice after it became our chosen charity.
Our regional staff, at our Head Office in Wakefield, hold a ballot every year to decide which charity they would like to support.
The hospice, based in Boston Spa, provides free care for children and young people with life-shortening conditions as well as support for their families.
Lisa Waugh, Managing Director at Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire, said: “Every year, everyone at our regional headquarters gets behind our fundraising efforts and shows real dedication to supporting our chosen charity through fundraising activities throughout the year”
Hannah Finan, partnerships manager at Martin House Children’s Hospice said: “We are delighted to have been named as the chosen charity for 2026 and that the staff at Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire recognise the vital support we provide for children and their families.”
Supporting World Book Day
To mark World Book Day, we donated £200 to Pinders Primary School to help stock its library, along with 20 'Eco-tastic;' books, which shine a light on the importance of sustainability within housebuilding.
In its 30th year, World Book Day aimed to encourage young people to discover reading.
Headteacher Lorna Kempley said: "We really appreciate Taylor Wimpey working with us to provide more books for our pupils to enjoy. It's not only enriched the school's resources, but also supported their educational journey."
