Summer Brick Club receives a helping hand from Taylor Wimpey
As part of its ongoing commitment to working in partnership with local communities, Taylor Wimpey East Scotland gave Winchburgh Community Development Trust a £500 boost to allow it to double the capacity of its popular Summer Brick Club for one week of the summer holidays for children in Winchburgh.
Commenting on the support that it has received from Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, Leigh Lauder from Winchburgh Community Development Trust, said: “We are delighted and extremely grateful for the support that we have received from Taylor Wimpey, which allowed us to increase the number of our popular Brick Club sessions during a week of the children’s summer holidays.
“We knew from the popularity of our Easter Brick Club sessions that if we had the opportunity to increase our capacity, we would be able to have more children in the village take part. We can’t thank Taylor Wimpey enough for their generous donation of £500, which helped us double the number of sessions that we could provide.”
Rachel Punton and Katie McGill from Taylor Wimpey East Scotland joined the children at a building session in the village, where they were challenged to build their own dream house. They had a great time and said, “We enjoyed meeting the children at the Summer Brick Club in Winchburgh. We saw some fantastic builds, and we were both blown away by the creativity of their designs.
“We are so pleased that our donation of £500 helped to double the number of brick club sessions that were available to local children in Winchburgh, and we hope they had as much fun as we did.”
Taylor Wimpey’s donation and assistance to Winchburgh Community Development Trust is one of the many contributions being made by the housebuilder towards community facilities and infrastructure in the wider area.

We are thrilled to be a supporting sponsor of the spectacular Starry Nights experience that will transform Beecraigs Country Park in West Lothian into a glittering Christmas wonderland from 13-23 December 2024. This magical illuminated experience offers festive entertainment and Christmas-themed joy for the entire family.
In addition to the festive lights, lasers, and captivating sound installations that will adorn the grounds, guests can gather around the Christmas Campfire to enjoy mulled wine and Christmas treats. This is complemented by a Festive Food Village filled to the brim with delicious food and drink, interactive entertainers, a Festive Funfair, and cosy Carols & Cocktails performances to brighten even the darkest of evenings.
There's lots to see and do, including Scotland’s longest Starry Tunnel, a beautiful Fairy Forest, Candy Cane Lane, the Grinch, Twinkle Twinkle, Singing Trees, and a Snowball Blizzard. After all the dazzling excitement, more festive entertainment, food and drink and all the fun of the Festive Fair awaits.

Community Garden Week (1-7 April) shines a light on the amazing range of community and school gardens across the country, and to celebrate this year earlier this month we donated £500 to Winchburgh Community Growing Group.
This latest donation marks our ongoing commitment to Winchburgh as the final few homeowners move in and complete our development of new homes at Auldcathie View overlooking Auldcathie District Park, while the first new homes are also released for sale at our Seton Rise development in the village.
