Raising awareness

With construction underway at Oakapple Place in Barming, representatives from our South East team led an informative talk about the potential dangers of a live development and the importance of site safety. Pupils also had the chance to ask questions and received a copy of our activity book.

Mrs Murray, Key Stage One Lead at Barming Primary School, said: “We would like to thank Taylor Wimpey for taking the time to speak to our pupils about this important subject. We all learned a lot and the visit has certainly helped the children to understand the dangers a construction site can pose and how they can stay safe.”

Simon Strudwick, Regional Health and Safety Advisor at Taylor Wimpey, led the talk and said:  “Children are naturally interested in finding out how we build our new homes but it is important that they are aware of the dangers around building sites.

“It was a pleasure to speak to the pupils of Barming Primary School and I hope our talk gave them a valuable lesson in staying safe.”
