Floor construction

Beam and block floor construction is an efficient system used to build the suspended ground floor of homes of all sizes. After the ground is prepared, concrete beams are laid onto the sub floor blockwork. Insulation is then placed between the beams to provide a base followed by the installation of damp proofing, additional insulation and a layer of cement screed floor finish.

As well as being quick and easy to install, this floor system provides efficient insulation, giving your home greater thermal efficiency and reducing the amount of heat lost to the outside.

Block build

Block building is a traditional method of construction which uses lightweight thermal blocks to build the internal walls. These blocks have a high thermal mass which means they absorb, store, and release heat slowly. This helps to regulate the indoor temperature of your home and to reduce the amount of energy needed to heat and cool it.

The cavities are fully filled with insulation which helps to reduce the loss of heat from your home, and provides great sound insulation. That and the air tightness level, combined with suitable ventilation, all contribute to lower energy bills.
