Floor Construction and Timber Frame
An efficient system to build your floors and a more environmentally friendly construction method
Floor construction
Beam and block floor construction is an efficient system used to build the suspended ground floor of homes of all sizes. After the ground is prepared, concrete beams are laid onto the sub floor blockwork. Insulation is then placed between the beams to provide a base followed by the installation of damp proofing, additional insulation and a layer of cement screed floor finish.
As well as being quick and easy to install, this floor system provides efficient insulation, giving your home greater thermal efficiency and reducing the amount of heat lost to the outside.
Timber frame
The main internal structure of timber frame homes is made of wooden posts and beams, with an outer layer of brick. The insulation fills the depth of the timber to keep your home warm.
Compared to traditional construction methods, timber frame construction can be more sustainable, with a reduced carbon footprint.
We are building more and more timber framed homes as part of our commitment to reducing our environmental impact and meeting net zero targets.
Each home is individual and will have specific technology and materials, please speak to our Sales Executive for further information.
