 Wymondham has a variety of amenities to help with day-to-day living whilst being set in the beautiful Norfolk countryside. The town offers a range of independent shops including a toy shop, wine merchants, clothes and gift shops, as well as a delicatessen and a community run bookshop. If you are in need of a supermarket then you have a choice of Morrisons or Waitrose, or if you want something more unique, then there is a weekly Friday market and a monthly famers’ market selling local produce.

Wymondham has a thriving arts scene, with exhibitions at Wymondham Arts Centre and an annual two-week festival featuring a huge variety of local music talent in a wide variety of music styles from classical to contemporary and many more.For those that wish to spend time in the glorious countryside why not try one of the trail walks alongside the River Tiffey. While you’re out head to the 900-year old Wymondham Abbey, where the unusual twin towers are a prominent local landmark.

There are a collection of places to eat in Wymondham, whether it’s popping into the Hen House café for a coffee and a homemade cake, or an evening at the Green Dragon - a 14th century tavern with a menu that includes local produce. If you prefer dining out at a more mainstream restaurant, then Norwich city centre boasts everything from a Jamie’s Italian to the Japanese Wagamama chain.

There are a number of primary and secondary schools within easy reach of the new homes at Birch Gate, including Browick Road Primary School, rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted at its most recent inspection. For older students the University of East Anglia offers a wide range of degree courses and is under 11 miles away.

As part of a Section 106 agreement, we will provide financial contributions towards the local community’s services, facilities and infrastructure in order to ensure that the proposed scheme can successfully integrate with, and contribute to, the sustainability of the local area.

The existing outline planning permission for this site (Planning Ref: 2011/0505/O) sets out the Section 106 contributions which are already agreed for the overall scheme.

Land West of Silfield Road

We are now preparing a reserved matters planning application for Phase 2, situated on land to the west of Silfield Road. Phase 2 will comprise 121 high-quality new homes, including a proportion of affordable properties.

Our proposals for Phase 2 will be submitted to South Norfolk District Council in October 2016, with an expected decision date of March 2017.
