There’s a real sense of community within the diverse town of Ipswich. Every year Ipswich hosts an exciting calendar of festivals and events celebrating food, music and culture, there really is something for everyone to enjoy. Closer to home there’s a range of local community groups to join, including weekly sports clubs or the baby & toddler group at Shepherd Drive Baptist Church, perfect if you’re looking to socialise.

The homes on this contemporary development have been thoughtfully designed with a mixture of red and buff brick and a handful have white render. Existing trees have been retained at the edge of the development, providing a habitat for birds and a new balancing pond ensures good drainage for residents whilst offering a green space for wildlife to flourish.

Green spaces

You’ll find plenty of views of agricultural farmland north-east of Wolsey Grange and a network of local footpaths will let you explore nearby villages. You can also walk, run or cycle through picturesque Chantry Park, only a 22 minute walk away. A play park is planned for Phase 1 of the development and will offer a natural meeting point and a safe space for children to enjoy the outdoors.

About Ipswich

Ipswich is the oldest Anglo-Saxon town in England with a rich history and proud heritage. The magnificent Christchurch Mansion and the many Tudor buildings give this location its traditional character. Yet this is complemented by the modern Waterfront, alive with restaurants, cafes and bars perched on the waters edge. With great connections to London, Cambridge and the coast, Ipswich is the perfect base from which to explore.

On your doorstep

Both Aldi and Tesco are less than a 6 minute drive of Wolsey Grange. Here you’ll also find Interchange Retail Park with shops and restaurants and London Road Park & Ride for easy access into the town centre. A doctors surgery, hairdressers, sports centre and pubs are all close by too. The nearest gym is at Spirit Health & Fitness Club only a few minutes walk away at Holiday Inn. There’s a great range of schools nearby including pre-schools, primary and secondary schools. This includes Tattingstone CEVCP School and One, the only ‘Outstanding’ sixth form in Suffolk. Ipswich is also home to the University of Suffolk.

Enjoying life at Wolsey Grange

Enjoy some retail therapy in the town with independent shops and leading high street stores, or for some family fun there’s an excellent range of activities to keep children of all ages entertained. You can indulge your appetite with a diverse food and drink culture along the Waterfront and in the Saints, including traditional pubs, restaurants, cafes and bars. Ipswich has a cutting-edge theatre and arts scene, so at Ipswich Regent Theatre or New Wolsey Theatre you can enjoy theatre, comedy and music, of if you prefer, take in a film at one of the cinemas in town.

Getting out and about

Just 3 minutes from junction 55 of the A14, Wolsey Grange is a commuter’s paradise. At Copdock Interchange you’ll also find junction 33 of the A12 making Colchester in Essex easily accessible in only 25 minutes. Trains from Ipswich are operated by Greater Anglia with direct routes to London Liverpool Street in 1 hour 15 minutes. Your nearest bus stop is just outside of the development on the A1071 with regular buses into the town centre.

Taylor wimpeyA home is more than just a house, it’s also about the community that surrounds it. And that’s why we’re invested in building communities that support local businesses, provide much needed facilities for the area and bring people together.

To support the growing community in Ipswich, we’ll be contributing £2,646,257 towards local early years, primary and secondary schools as part of our planning obligations for Wolsey Grange. We’re also providing a healthcare and library contribution. Alongside this, our contribution to Babergh District Council will help to improve the local infrastructure.

We were recently proud to donate £1,000 to Friends of Gusford Primary School who were voted our regional winners for Suffolk in our ‘This year’ Community Chest competition.
