How we help contribute to the local community
We are proud to announce our charity contributions for 2024
We have made a number of contributions to a number of charities and organisations across the Bristol region during the last yearChurchdown primary pupils enjoy new outdoor areas thanks to support from local businesses
Children at Churchdown Parton Manor School have been treated to new outdoor areas, including a large ‘Big Dig’ and mud kitchen area, thanks to the support of local businesses.
The project has been undertaken by contractor Galtec and Elmtree Landscapes Ltd, with help from our Bristol team.
It has seen the creation of new areas at the school for children to enjoy, including a large digging area, outdoor seating, play areas, and road surfacing, as well as the planting of new trees and shrubs. The work, which started in December 2025 and was completed in early March, involved members of staff from all three businesses.
Galtec, a contractor based in Gloucester, donated materials including timber logs for outdoor seating areas, piping, slabs, composting materials, machinery as well as members of staff carrying out the works. We provided additional materials including piping and sheeting. Our team also crafted 128 wellie holders for children to use on muddy days.
Elmtree Landscapes Ltd provided and planted a number of trees and shrubs to enhance the outdoor areas around the school, as well as seeding soil bunds on the school grounds ready for the warmer weather.
Susan Maj, teacher and member of the Wellbeing and Outdoor Learning Team at Churchdown Parton Manor Schools said: “Our school is committed to making sure children get the most out of each day spent with us, including lunchtimes. In total these equal one whole school day per week, so our goal has been to provide the best opportunities for pupils to explore, play, socialise and be active every day using our lovely, extensive grounds.
“We are very thankful to Taylor Wimpey and their partners Galtec and Elmtree Landscaping, as well as other local businesses, volunteers, our staff, governors and families, who have worked hard together so that all our pupils can enjoy these health, social and academic benefits for many years to come.”
Tom Rayer, Managing Director, at Galtec said: “We have worked really hard to ensure that these new spaces are fun and engaging for the children, and we’re really pleased that they will be able to enjoy learning and being outdoors as much as possible.”
Paul Lynch, Managing Director at Elmtree Landscapes Ltd, added: “We were happy to be able to provide assistance to the school to enhance their outdoor areas”.
Rob Curry, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey Bristol, said:
“At Taylor Wimpey, we are passionate about supporting the communities in which we build, and working with local schools is really important to us. We would like to thank everyone at Galtec for their hard work and support.”

Our contributions to the community
Across the Bristol region, we have supported numerous organisations and charities throughout 2024 to make a difference within the community.Among the causes we supported last year was our Charity of the Year for 2024, Caring in Bristol. Back in December, we donated £2,000 as well as clothing to Caring in Bristol, a charity that supports homeless and vulnerable people across the region.
Over the course of last year, we donated approximately £20,000 to community groups, causes and schools including Quedegley Community Pantry, Children’s Hospice South West, Avon & Somerset Search and Rescue and Nailsea in Bloom among others.
