Taylor Wimpey South Wales has sponsored this year's Ross-on-Wye Christmas lights switch-on with a £500 donation.We hosted an open house event
On 12th July, we welcomed prospective buyers, current residents and everyone from the local community to our Kyrle Green open house event. Visitors were able to explore our homes and see what the development has to offer.
On the hottest day of the year the turn out was successful with prospective buyers able to take a look around 4 different house types including; the 3-bedroom Keeford, 4-bedroom Plumdale, 3-bedroom Brambleford and the 4-bedroom Hubham.
Visitors were also able to make use of the complimentary ice cream van whilst having an IFA on site for free advice as they enjoyed a look around the development.
Taylor Wimpey awards local community group theHub 1000
As part of our commitment to engaging with the local community, we asked local residents to nominate deserving charities or organisations, with @theHub ultimately selected as the top recipient.
Since its launch, @theHub has provided essential services for disadvantaged residents in Ross-on-Wye, including shower facilities, laundry services, hot meals, and a quiet place to enjoy tea or coffee.
Matt James, Sales Manager for Taylor Wimpey South Wales, said: "As we continue to build a new community in Ross-on-Wye, we're delighted to support a local group that delivers such an important support system. This is a worthy cause, and we hope our donation will help @theHub continue their vital services to the community."
We teamed up with Ross-on-Wye Men’s Shed to create bird boxes
As part of our aim to encourage sustainability in and around the community, we teamed up with Ross-on-Wye Men’s Shed to create a range of welcoming homes for an array of wildlife.
The bird boxes will now be installed around our Kyrle Green development, creating a warm, safe place for birds and insects this winter.
Founded in 2016, the Ross-on-Wye Men’s Shed welcomes those over the age of 55, giving them the chance to come together to make, repair and repurpose items in a safe and happy environment. The aim of the group is to improve well-being, reduce loneliness and encourage men to open up and carry out shoulder-to-shoulder conservation.
Mark Gunn from Ross-on-Wye Men’s Shed, said: “We were really excited to get involved in a community project with Taylor Wimpey South Wales and seeing the completed bird boxes on the Kyrle Green development has been delightful.
“Ross-on-Wye Men’s Shed has positively impacted many of us and we’re always encouraging retired and semi-retired gentlemen to come along to one of our workshops where we connect with each other while making and mending things.”

Meet the team at Kyrle Green
The team at Taylor Wimpey South Wales are thrilled to introduce Ross-on-Wye's newest development, Kyrle Green.
Kyrle Green proudly opened its doors in June 2024 and the dedicated team are eager to welcome prospective buyers. Meet Harriet, a devoted sales executive who is local to the area. Having just kick-started her career in sales, Harriet describes working with Taylor Wimpey South Wales as a ‘dream come true.’
Harriet said: “It’s an absolute privilege to be at Kyrle Green from the very start of the development. My day-to-day duties involve guiding my customers through their house buying journey, right from their first visit through to moving in. I’m also responsible for the upkeep and presentation of the development and show homes.

“My favourite part of the job is helping someone find their dream home - handing over the keys to a customer's new home is so rewarding.”
Being from Ross-on-Wye, Harriet finds it rewarding to contribute to a new area that will boost the local community. “I’m excited to see customers move in and to be part of the growing community at Kyrle Green. As I’m local to the area, I love recommending customers places to eat and things to do - my favourite restaurant is the Royal Hotel located in the town centre.”
Mark, Site Manager at Kyrle Green has been with Taylor Wimpey South Wales for 20 years. Mark has been an invaluable member of the team since his arrival in 2004 and has been working as Site Manager for the last three years. Speaking about working for the housebuilder, Matt said: I’m proud to work for the company and it’s been incredibly fulfilling to progress here.”

Mark plays a pivotal part in the team, his duties include, programming and planning, meetings with sales and contractors, maintaining quality control checks and motivating the workforce. He shares his love for the job: “Everyday can bring challenges which need to be solved but it's what I love! I enjoy working closely with the sales team, helping me improve my role as a manager while providing exceptional homes for our customers.”
Mark describes his favourite thing about Kyrle Green: “The development has extraordinary views. I really like the Hubham house type - this would be the ideal house for my family and I as it’s spacious and includes a garage that would be the perfect space for my motorcycle!”
Mark and Harriet share their advice for those who are seeking their dream home with Taylor Wimpey South Wales. Mark says: “I advise people to come and visit Harriet in our sales office to discuss all your options and to see the beautiful landscapes Kyrle Green has to offer.”
Harriet adds: “Even if you are in the early days and just want to explore your options, please come and see me. I always advise anyone who is looking for a new home to visit the development regardless of what position they are in so that they can gain a feel for each house, its location and the development. I look forward to meeting many new prospective buyers and I can’t wait to watch the Kyrle Green community grow!”

On Sunday 24th August, almost 1,000 competitors came together for the 150th year for the annual regatta, bringing boats and crews from all over the country.
Taylor Wimpey South Wales proudly supported Ross Rowing Club for the event, with their logo featured on banners around the site. Several members of the Taylor Wimpey South Wales team attended with their families, describing it as a fun-filled and memorable day out.

The Ross-on-Wye Christmas Market and Lights Switch-on took place on Sunday, November 30th, and welcomed thousands of visitors from the local and wider community.
Taylor Wimpey South Wales provided the event with a £500 sponsorship, dedicated towards making it the best year yet.
Ophelia Rajpaul, Tourism & Events Officer at Ross-on-Wye Town Council and organiser of the lights switch-on, said: “We would like to thank Taylor Wimpey for its sponsorship of the Christmas Fayre and light switch-on. The switch-on event is a great way to bring together locals, businesses, and visitors to celebrate the start of the festive season and we’re grateful to Taylor Wimpey South Wales for the continued support they have given us.”
Attendees enjoyed plenty during the fun-packed day out. With festive activities, food stalls, gifts, and entertainment for the whole family.
