We supported Kingsmoor Lower School by sponsoring the kits for their leavers tournament which took place on Saturday 22nd June, demonstrating our commitment to fostering grassroots sports and nurturing young talent within the Bedfordshire area.
Honouring the teams last tournament, the kits showed off the schools traditional colours of blue and white to match the school uniform. The tournament included school years 1, 2, 3 and 4. Over 160 players attended on the day, and in an exciting finish, Year 4 Russell Lower School from Ampthill emerged victorious, while Year 3 was won by Kingsmoor Lower School from Flitwick.
All money raised from the event will go towards supporting the Kingsmoor PTA and Kingsmoor Football Club, underlining the event's dual purpose of fostering sportsmanship in the local community.
Michael Simpkins, Chairperson at Kingsmoor Lower School Football Club, said: “We are thrilled to receive this sponsorship from Taylor Wimpey. It's support like this that enables us to continue our mission of providing a nurturing environment for children to thrive and develop their skills. The day was a fantastic way to end the tournament season and we are extremely grateful for the support."
Jason Turner, Sales Manager at Taylor Wimpey North Thames, said: "We are really proud to support Kingsmoor Lower School and the final tournament of the season. As a company, we recognise the importance of investing in the local community and young children.”
We remain committed to making a lasting difference in the communities in which we build, and look forward to continuing to support schools, charities and organisations even further across the North Thames region.

Local investment
A home is more than just a house, it's also about the community that surrounds it. And that's why we invest in building communities that support local businesses, improve facilities in the area and help bring people together. At Taylor Wimpey, we design sustainable developments that meet the needs of residents, so as part of our commitment to ensure that Franklin Park can successfully integrate with, and contribute to, the sustainability of the local area.We Improve Road Safety for School Children in Stevenage
In support of Road Safety Week 2024, which takes place from 17th to 23rd of November 2024, both the winning designs created by Abigail (year 6) and Isla-Mae (year 6) will take pride of place at Franklin Park. Abigail, first place, was awarded a £50 book token and the runner up, Isla-Mae, also received a £25 book token. We also donated £250 to the school to say thank you for taking part.
Road Safety Week, which takes place in November every year, is designed to educate children, young people and parents about the dangers on roads and provide steps to help keep children stay safe near roads and help prevent deaths and injuries.
The competition was launched during a school visit where we gave the students a presentation on the importance of road safety to help inspire the pupil’s designs.
Emma Fordham, Headteacher at Almond Hill Junior School said: “It was lovely to have a visitor come to the school and deliver such a well prepared assembly to our children about such an important topic. They were so excited about the competition and both our winners can't wait to see their designs in action.”
Rozita Gharavi, Sales Manager for Taylor Wimpey North Thames, said: “National Road Safety Week is a fantastic initiative, and we are proud to have supported Almond Hill Junior School which is located close to our Franklin Park development. We hope that the road safety sign will help to encourage people to slow down in the area and keep the children safe when near roads.”
We Sponsor Bedwell Rangers Football Club
We have shown our support to Bedwell Rangers Football Club by sponsoring the under-12s Inclusive Squad for boys and girls with physical disabilities and/or learning difficulties for the 2024/2025 season, demonstrating our commitment to fostering grassroots sports and nurturing young talent within the Stevenage area.
The £695 donation will directly benefit the under-12s team, facilitating the provision of essential kit and equipment vital for their continued success and development on the field.
Chris Budden, Sponsorship Officer at Bedwell Rangers Football Club, said: “We are thrilled to receive this sponsorship from Taylor Wimpey. It's support like this that enables us to continue our mission of providing a nurturing environment for young footballers to thrive and develop their skills. This support goes a long way in ensuring that our players have access to the resources they need to excel both on and off the pitch."
Jason Turner, Sales Manager at Taylor Wimpey North Thames, said: "We are proud to support Bedwell Rangers Football Club and their under-12s team. As a company, we recognise the importance of investing in grassroots sports initiatives and understand the pivotal role they play in nurturing sport among young athletes. It’s great to support a team so close to our Franklin Park development.”
Bedwell Rangers Football Club was the first youth club to be founded in Stevenage and has been providing quality football coaching for boys and girls between 5–18 years of age, for 65 years. The sponsorship not only underscores our commitment to sport in the community but also reinforces our dedication to enriching the lives of residents within the areas in which we build.
